Sugar Art by Zoe Byres (formerly red kitchen girls) is a Brisbane based cake and sugar art business.

With well over 20 highly distinguished awards in recent years, Zoe Byres has become a much sought after demonstrator and mentor in the industry. Specialising in hand sculptured and hand painted cakes, her work has been featured in many industry magazines and publications both nationally and internationally. Zoe’s unique style often sees her creations shared across various social media platform’s as well as featured on supplier websites.   Zoe continues to dazzle, amaze and push the boundaries of all things cakey and loves nothing more than to share that passion with eager learners.

Zoe is honoured to represent Fondtastic as a member of the Australian Fondtastic Ambassador Team.  She is very proud to be an Accredited Profession Member of the Australian Cake Artists and Decorators Association and she was honoured to demonstrate at the Australian International Cake Show in May 2017 and teach her own workshop in 2018.

Zoe has demonstrated at various Cake Guild and Association Events nationwide. She has also demonstrated her skills and also product at many Cake shows incuding. 2017 Melbourne Sweet Expo, 2016 Brisbane Cake Expo. 2015 and 2016 Cake Bake & Sweet Show Sydney. 

Zoe is also proud to be a Featured Contributor with Viva La Buttercream and she is currently teaching regular Sugar Art and Cake Painting Classes at Lollipop Cake Supplies, Eatons Hill.

Zoe is a member of the Australian Cake Decorating Network and she is also a proud supporter of Cake Angels Network Australia.

In the Media

A number of Zoe's original hand painted cakes have been included in the Australian Cake Decorating Network's Cake! Magazine, May 2015 Issue with another cakey creations featured in the August 2015 Issue and the May 2016 Issue.  

Most recently, Cake! Magazine published an original painting tutorial by Zoe and also featured some of her original cakes in the February 2017 Iissue.  

Zoe has participated various Cake Collaborations, including the Aussie's Take The Cake Collaboration (2015 and 2016), the international tribute Bowie Collaboration (2016 ), the international Animal Rights Collaboration (2016), the international Sweet Summer Collaboration (2016) which was a finalist in the Cake Masters Collaboration Awards 2016 and the international CakeFlix Collaboration (2017).   Zoe is also a proud member of the Sugar Skull Bakers having participated in the international collaboration in 2015,  2016 and 2017 with her 2016 contribution featuring on American Cake Decorating Website and also in Cake Masters Magazine.  

In 2015 Zoe coordinated a large project with Cake Angels Network at the Special Children's Christmas Party which was featured in Quest Community Newspaper's City South News
